An event has been accredited but is recording as zero hours, why is that?
Answer:
If an event has been accredited but is recording as zero hours in your CPD log, this could be due to one of the following reasons:
Incomplete Attendance
To earn CPD hours, you must attend the full duration of the accredited event. If you joined late, left early, or missed part of the session, your attendance might not meet the minimum time requirement, and no hours will be awarded.
Event Was Accredited but No Hours Assigned Yet
In some cases, an event may be approved for CPD but the specific number of hours or categories has not yet been finalised or uploaded to the system. This can result in the event showing up as accredited, but with 0 hours recorded temporarily.
Technical or Input Error
There might have been an issue with:
- How the event code was entered into the system.
- How the provider reported attendance to LIA.
- A system glitch preventing the automatic update.
Event Type or Format Not Eligible for Hours
Some event types—such as social gatherings, untested webinars, or non-accredited training—may not meet LIA’s criteria for CPD credit even if they were initially listed as accredited.
What You Should Do:
- Double-check that you attended the full event and entered the correct event code.
- If everything seems in order and your log still shows 0 hours, contact LIA’s CPD team with the event details for clarification.
