How can I check that the content I am completing on LIA Elevate is accredited for CPD hours and relevant to my designation?

Answer

By ensuring that the content is CPD-accredited and relevant to your designation, you can avoid completing content that does not contribute to your annual CPD requirements. To check if the content on LIA Elevate is accredited for CPD hours and relevant to your designation, follow these steps:

  1. Check the Event or Course Description
    • Before registering, review the details as it will always state the number of CPD hours and the relevant CPD categories.
  2. Confirm the Relevance to Your Designation
    • If the content is CPD-accredited, check whether it applies to your specific designation and product categories.
    • CPD must align with the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) requirements for your designation (e.g., QFA holders must complete hours across five of the product categories, including ethics).
    • If you are unsure, cross-reference the CPD categories on your CPD log.
  3. Look for CPD Accreditation Details at the End of the Course
    • If the content you completed in LIA Elevate awarded CPD. you will be issued with a Certificate and your CPD log will automatically record the CPD hours for you.
    • Some content may focus on general skills (e.g., leadership, communication) and do not qualify for CPD hours.
  4. Contact LIA Member Services
    • If you are still unsure, email cpd@lia.ie or call LIA Member Services to confirm whether the course is accredited and applicable to your CPD requirement.
