How do I apply for special considerations?

Answer

If you have a disability, medical condition, or specific learning difficulty that may affect your examination performance, LIA offers special accommodations to support your needs. To apply for these accommodations, follow the steps below:

  1. Reach out to LIA's Education Team at education@lia.ie to discuss your requirements (at least 6 weeks before your scheduled exam).

  2. Complete the following form and provide supporting documents, example: educational psychologist’s assessment that outlines your condition and the recommended accommodations.

Additional Information:

  • Temporary Conditions: If you have a temporary condition (e.g., injury, illness) that requires special accommodations, similar provisions can be arranged. Note that exam stress or anxiety without a formal diagnosis does not qualify for special accommodations.

  • Confidentiality: All information and documentation provided are treated with strict confidentiality and used solely to arrange appropriate examination accommodations.

  • Equality Commitment: LIA is dedicated to ensuring equal access to examinations for all students, enabling you to demonstrate your knowledge and competencies fairly.
