How you pay your membership fee
How you pay your membership fee
What happens next depends on whether you pay your membership fee by card or Direct Debit.
If you pay by card
Your bridging renewal will be available through our new member portal, where you’ll be able to view your sales order and pay securely by card.
When will my renewal be available?
If you normally renew between November and June, your bridging renewal will be available from 1 December 2026.
If you normally renew between July and October, your bridging renewal will be available from 1 June 2027.
If you pay by Direct Debit
If you pay by Direct Debit, you do not need to make your payment through the new member portal. Your bridging membership fee will be collected automatically.
As part of the move to our new membership system, LIA is moving its Direct Debit collections to a new collector, GoCardless.
You do not need to set up a new Direct Debit or contact your bank. Your existing Direct Debit mandate will transfer automatically.
When will my payment be collected?
If you normally renew between November and June, your bridging membership fee will be collected on 1 January 2027.
If you normally renew between July and October, your bridging membership fee will be collected on 1 July 2027.
The amount collected will only cover the period from your usual renewal date to 31 December 2027.
Before your payment is collected, we’ll send you advance notice confirming the amount and collection date, along with the details you’ll see on your bank statement.
From 1 January 2028, your membership will renew and your Direct Debit payment will be collected on 1 January each year.
