I forgot to apply for my designation. How long do I have to apply?

Answer

If you forgot to apply for your designation after qualifying, you have up to two years from 1st January following your qualification to submit your application. If you do not apply within this timeframe, you will need to resit and pass certain exams to reinstate your eligibility, depending on how much time has passed:

  • 2 to 9 years after qualification – You must resit and pass the QFA Regulation module or another relevant exam.
  • More than 9 years after qualification – You will need to resit and pass all required modules for your designation.

To avoid additional requirements, it is best to apply for your designation as soon as possible.
