I've studied before, do I get any exemptions?

Answer

You may be eligible for exemptions from certain LIA modules based on your previous qualifications. LIA grants exemptions on a case-by-case basis, depending on the content and level of your prior studies.

How to Apply for Exemptions:

  1. Check Eligibility – Review the exemption guidelines on the LIA website to see if your previous qualification is recognised.
  2. Gather Documentation – Obtain official transcripts and module descriptions from your previous institution.
  3. Submit an Exemption Application – Complete an exemption request form.
  4. Pay the Exemption Fee – A fee of €55 per exemption applies.
  5. Await Confirmation – LIA will assess your application and notify you of the outcome.

Additional Information:

  • Exemptions are only granted for qualifications that align with the syllabus of LIA’s modules.
  • If you hold a qualification from another professional body or university, LIA may require further evaluation before granting exemptions.
  • Exemptions do not apply automatically—you must submit an official application.
