My hours required are showing as 0, why can't I make an Annual Return?

Answer

If your required CPD hours are showing as 0, this usually means that:

  1. You are a newly qualified member – If you obtained your designation between August and December, you are not required to complete CPD hours in the year you qualified. Your CPD obligation will begin in the following year.
  2. You have received a pro-rata adjustment – If you were on statutory leave (e.g., maternity, parental, adoption, or carer's leave) or had an approved long-term illness exemption, your CPD hours may have been adjusted to 0 for the year.
  3. Your designation has lapsed or is inactive – If you have not met previous CPD requirements or failed to reinstate your designation, your CPD obligation may have been removed.

Since your required hours are 0, the system will not allow you to submit an Annual Return, as there are no hours to report. If you believe this is incorrect, you should contact LIA Member Services for clarification.
