Pro-Rata - I'm on a career break, long-term sick leave, Maternity leave can I apply?

You may be eligible to apply for a Pro-Rata Adjustment if you were unable to complete your full CPD requirement due to specific circumstances.
Who Can Apply for Pro-Rata?
✔ Statutory Leave – Maternity, parental, adoption, or carer's leave (both paid and unpaid).
✔ Long-Term Illness – If you were unable to work for more than two months, with medical certification.
Who Cannot Apply?
✖ Part-time work or job-sharing.
✖ Career breaks, redundancy, or unemployment (unless resigning from the designation).
✖ Annual leave or holidays.
How to Apply:
- Complete the Pro-Rata Adjustment Form online via LIA’s website: lia.ie.
- Submit any required supporting documentation, such as a medical certificate or employer confirmation.
Even if you are granted a pro-rata adjustment, you must still submit a CPD Annual Return by 31st January of the following year.
