Submitting Your Annual CPD Return

All LIA members must submit an Annual CPD Return by 31st January each year to confirm their CPD activity for the previous year.

You must submit the return even if you have not completed all required CPD hours.

How do I submit my Annual CPD Return?

If you have not yet submitted your Annual CPD Return, you can complete the process through your LIA Member Account.

Steps to submit your return

  1. Log in to your LIA Member Account
  2. Navigate to your CPD Log
  3. Review your CPD activity to ensure all entries are correct
  4. Click Submit Annual Return to finalise your submission

If this is your first time submitting a CPD return, you can also refer to the step-by-step guide available in the Members Area.

Before submitting your return, you can update your CPD log by adding or removing CPD codes if necessary.

Should I submit a CPD return if I haven’t completed my CPD hours?

Yes. You should still submit your Annual CPD Return, even if you have not completed your required CPD hours.

Failing to submit your CPD return by 31 January will result in non-compliance, which may lead to the removal of your designation or accreditation.

If the CPD submission period is still open, you can submit your return by:

  1. Logging in to your LIA Member Account
  2. Navigating to your CPD Log
  3. Selecting Submit Annual Return

If the submission period has closed and you failed to submit your annual return,  you should contact the LIA CPD Team as soon as possible to discuss your options.

Do newly qualified members need to submit a CPD return?

Yes. All newly qualified members must submit an Annual CPD Return, even if no CPD hours are required for that year.

Your CPD requirement depends on when you obtained your qualification during the year.

If you qualified between January and July

You must:

  • Complete 4 CPD hours by 31 December of the year you qualified
  • Submit your Annual CPD Return by 31 January of the following year

During this initial period, there is no requirement to complete Ethics CPD or category-specific CPD.

If you qualified between August and December

  • No CPD hours are required for the year you qualified
  • You must still submit an Annual CPD Return by 31 January of the following year

Your full CPD requirements begin in the following CPD year.

From the following CPD year onwards

From the year after you qualify, you must:

  • Complete the full CPD requirement for your designation
  • Submit an Annual CPD Return by 31 January each year
