Using LIA Elevate for CPD

LIA Elevate offers a wide range of CPD-accredited on-demand learning events that can help members complete their annual CPD requirements.

CPD hours from LIA Elevate are automatically recorded in your CPD log once all completion requirements are met, provided the content is CPD-accredited and relevant to your designation.

How can I check if LIA Elevate content is CPD-accredited?

Before completing content on LIA Elevate, you should confirm that it is CPD-accredited and relevant to your designation.

To check this:

  1. Check the Event or Course Description

Before registering, review the event details.

The description should state:

  • the number of CPD hours available
  • the CPD categories the event applies to

  1. Confirm Relevance to Your Designation

Even if the content is CPD-accredited, it must also be relevant to your specific designation and product categories.

CPD requirements follow the Central Bank of Ireland’s Minimum Competency Code (MCC).

For example:

  • QFA holders must complete CPD hours across the required MCC product categories, including Ethics CPD.

If you are unsure, you can compare the CPD category listed for the event with the categories shown in your CPD log.

  1. Check the CPD Details at the End of the Course

If the content awards CPD hours:

  • You will receive a CPD certificate
  • Your CPD log will automatically update

Some learning content on LIA Elevate focuses on general professional development, such as:

  • leadership
  • communication
  • personal development

These courses do not award CPD hours.

Is there enough CPD content on LIA Elevate to complete my CPD hours?

Yes. LIA Elevate offers a large range of CPD-accredited on-demand event content to help members complete their annual CPD requirements.

Key points:

  • LIA Elevate currently offers over 100 CPD hours through accredited on-demand events.
  • CPD content is available across all Minimum Competency Code (MCC) product categories.
  • Ethics CPD content is also available.
  • New CPD-accredited events are added regularly to keep content current and relevant.

Members should always ensure that the content they complete is CPD-accredited and relevant to their designation.

Why didn’t I receive CPD hours after completing content on LIA Elevate?

If you completed content on LIA Elevate but did not receive CPD hours, there may be several possible reasons.

The content is not CPD-accredited

Some content on LIA Elevate focuses on general professional development and does not award CPD hours.

Examples include topics such as:

  • leadership
  • communication
  • personal development

The content is not relevant to your designation

Even if content is CPD-accredited, it must be relevant to your designation and product categories.

If the content does not align with your designation requirements, CPD hours may not be awarded.

Completion requirements were not met

Most online CPD events require you to:

  • complete all sections of the course
  • pass the assessment or quiz

If these steps are not completed, CPD hours will not be recorded.

The course has not been accredited

To award CPD hours, a course must be reviewed and approved by LIA’s CPD team.

If the course has not yet been accredited, CPD hours cannot be awarded.

What should I do if my CPD hours are still missing?

If you believe your CPD hours should have been recorded but have not appeared in your CPD log:

  1. Confirm that the event is CPD-accredited
  2. Check that you completed all course requirements
  3. Verify that the content is relevant to your designation
