What does CPD mean?
Answer
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It is an ongoing learning process that helps professionals maintain, update, and enhance their knowledge and skills throughout their careers.
For LIA members, CPD ensures compliance with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Minimum Competency Code (MCC) and helps maintain professional designations such as QFA, APA, CUA, CUC, and PTP.
CPD Requirements Include:
- Completing 15 CPD hours per year (or 6 hours for some designations).
- Meeting category-specific requirements relevant to your designation(s).
- Completing at least 1 hour of Ethics training
- Submitting an Annual CPD Return by 31st January.
CPD activities include online modules, seminars, exams, and accredited training events. You can track and manage your CPD hours through your CPD Log on the LIA website: www.lia.ie.
