What is the LIA code for an external event I have attended?

Answer:

The LIA CPD code for an external event you have attended must be provided by the event organiser or training provider. LIA does not issue codes directly to attendees for external events.

How to Get the LIA CPD Code for Your External Event

Contact the Event Provider

Reach out to the organiser of the course, seminar, or training and ask for:

  • The LIA CPD accreditation code
  • The number of CPD hours awarded
  • The relevant MCC category(ies)

This information is usually shared:

  • On your certificate of attendance
  • In a follow-up email
  • At the start or end of the event

Ensure the Event Was Accredited

To be valid for CPD, the event must have been accredited by:

  • LIA
  • The Institute of Banking
  • Or the Insurance Institute of Ireland

Note: If the event was not accredited, it will not count toward your CPD hours.

No Code Provided?

If you did not receive a code and believe the event qualifies:

  • Ask the event provider to submit it for CPD accreditation using this form:
    🔗 CPD Accreditation Request Form
  • Alternatively, you can submit the event details to LIA for review.

Once You Have the Code:

Log in to your MyCPD account at www.lia.ie, and:

  1. Go to “Add External Event”
  2. Enter the:
    • CPD Code
    • Event title
    • Hours awarded
    • MCC category
    • Date attended
