What membership category should I apply for? 

LIA offers several membership categories to support members at different stages of their career. The guide below can help you decide which category is most appropriate for you.

Membership categories overview

  • Associate Membership
    Suitable for individuals working in financial services who are beginning their professional development or do not yet hold a recognised qualification.

  • Associate Plus Membership
    Designed for individuals who hold a recognised qualification but are not yet fully qualified under the Minimum Competency Code (MCC).

  • Qualified Membership
    For members who hold a recognised qualification and meet the requirements of the MCC for their role.

  • CPD Membership
    Suitable for individuals who need to maintain CPD for professional or regulatory reasons but are not currently practising in a role covered by the MCC.

  • Retired Membership
    Available to members who have retired from active practice but wish to remain connected to LIA.
