What's Changing

Currently, LIA memberships renew throughout the year based on each member’s individual renewal date.

From 1 January 2028, all LIA members will renew on 1 January annually. For organisations, this means moving to one annual membership review each November and one annual invoice each December, making it easier to plan, manage and budget for your organisation’s LIA memberships.

To bring all members onto this new January cycle, 2027 will be a bridging year.

Why will my organisation receive two invoices?

Because employees currently renew at different points throughout the year, most organisations will receive two invoices during the 2027 bridging year:

Invoice Date	Employees covered
1 December 2026	Employees whose current LIA membership renews between November 2026 and June 2027
1 June 2027	Employees whose current LIA membership renews between July and October 2027

For each employee, their membership fee will be pro-rated from their current renewal date to 31 December 2027. This means you are only charged for the period needed to bring that employee onto the new January renewal cycle.

Your November review sets both invoices. There is no second membership review before the June invoice.

From 2028 onwards, your organisation will have one membership review each November and one annual invoice each December.
